The course is aimed at senior trainees or those in their first couple of years of consultancy, already signed off for colonoscopy. Aim of the course is to help upskill technique, fine tune knowledge, and help to improve confidence in basic polypectomy (up to 1.5cm lesions).
The format of the course is:
- 3 delegates, each scoping 2 patients (one in the morning and one in the afternoon)
- Standard diagnostic colonoscopy in the morning; colonoscopy and polypectomy for the afternoon case (polyp 1-1.5cm only)
- Live group discussion during all cases with rest of delegates/ faculty
- Lunchtime topics for discussion will include: Tips/ tricks to enhance quality of colonoscopy; use of adjuncts – endo caps; AI; dye-spray etc; Basics of polypectomy – including assessment, types of lifts, snares, diathermy settings etc.
