Course Overview

An annual mandatory training course provided for UHCW employees involved in the MDT care of the obstetric patient. Specific focus is on strong leadership, sharing best practice, prioritising and investing in the capability and skills of the maternity workforce, human factors and promoting effective MDT working. The sessions are split between simulation and complementing skills stations. Staff are also given time to complete online learning before or after attending.

Course Objectives

MOST is a very successful mandatory course which gives those involved in the MDT care of an obstetric patient the opportunity to learn and train together in a safe environment. Focusing on team working, escalation, communication, and medical management. Simulated scenarios focus on local and national incidents in acute maternal emergencies to promote patient safety and improve patient outcomes. The course has a committed faculty of MDT experts who also support with the debrief after each simulation where the group learning happens together.
