IMT 3 Medical Registrar Ready Course

Course Overview:

A full day course designed to challenge the trainee preparing to become a Medical Registrar.

The course involves a variety of acute medical Hi Fidelity simulation scenarios, case-based

discussion and reflection and Inquiry through debrief.

Target Audience:

Doctors in training at IMT 3 STAGE

Course Objectives:

  • To learn and demonstrate the essential clinical and non-technical skills when managing medical emergencies to aide development of the medical registrar role.
  • To identify the need and options for escalation and referrals as a medical registrar
  • To revise and employ effective communication tools between patients, families, and colleagues within multi-disciplinary teams.
  • To demonstrate effective leadership and team playing skills in the context of medical emergency management
  • To learn and apply appropriate management strategies to influence, negotiate and reassess priorities, working with their respective teams to effectively manage complex and dynamic events.
