Spiritual Care at UHCW

  •  The Faith Centre

    • The Faith Centre is well-equipped with a total of 7 areas for prayers and personal reflection: 1 main area where services and events for various faiths happen on a larger scale, and 6 individual, smaller prayer rooms which are for specific religious use, and an additional ‘quiet room’ space available for those whom do not follow a particular religious tradition.  

    • At the Hospital of St. Cross, there is a chapel and a separate multi-faith prayer area, open 24/7.

    • All Chapel areas are open 24/7. Everyone is welcome.

  • Prayer Rooms

    1. The particular individual prayer & reflection rooms that are available are:

      • Hindu
      • Muslim (male and female prayer & washing areas available).
      • Roman Catholic
      • Other Christian
      • Sikh
      • Quiet Room for non-religious patients and families.

We do have special times for community prayers as listed below.

Due to COVID-19 regulations, there is a maximum of 30 people per service/prayer time at any one time in the Faith Centre main area. We thank you for cooperation.

Our regular service times for Jumu’ah (Friday Muslim) prayers are:

  • 1.20/1:40pm Summer
  • 1.15pm Winter
  • Each Friday, there are two slots for Friday prayers.

Regular service times for Christian worship are:         

  • Sundays, 11am - Church of England/Free Church Service, Faith Centre, University Hospital Coventry
  • Sundays, 3pm - Roman Catholic Mass, Faith Centre, University Hospital.
  • Tuesdays, 11am - Roman Catholic Mass in the Faith Centre, University Hospital Coventry
  • 1st Tuesday of each month, 1:30pm - Roman Catholic Mass, Chapel of St. Elizabeth, Hospital of St Cross

All are welcome to join prayers and worship at the Faith Centre.
